The first time you sign in, we'll walk you through a short welcome and ask for location and notification permissions. Both are optional — you can change them anytime in iOS Settings or your browser's site settings.
When you tap Check In, the app confirms you're at the restaurant, then lets you rate individual dishes, optionally add a photo and a short note, and post. That's what we mean by a verified check-in — it's how we keep ratings honest.
Photos go through a moderation pass before they appear publicly, so there can be a short delay (usually under a minute). If a photo is still missing after that:
In the app: Account → Settings → Delete account. Deletion drains your data end-to-end — check-ins, ratings, photos, follows, saved collections, and the account itself. This is irreversible.
If you can't reach the in-app flow (forgotten password, account lockout), write to support@eatmorels.com from the email on the account and we'll handle it for you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Eat Morels is a free product with no ads.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy. The short version: we store what the product needs to work (your check-ins, your photos, your profile), we use PostHog and Sentry for first-party analytics and error tracking (no cross-site ad networks), and deletion means deletion.
